Kayakalpa Yoga-a comprehensive health care programme
The Maharishi, who is qualified physician of indigenous medicine,
has also developed Kayakalpa yoga, which is a wonderful rejuvenation
practice of the Siddha Yogis of South India. It has a three-fold objective:
1. To tone up of the nervous system and life force retard ageing.
2. To maintain youthfulness and physical vigour.
3. To postpone death until one attains the goal of life.
Kayakalpa Yoga is a complete science which integrates physics, biology,
physiology, philosophy, genetics and yoga. This philosophy of Kayakalpa
Yoga delineates the manner in which the human being can be enhanced
by proper integration of physical body, mind, bio-magnetism, life
force and sexual vital fluid. Practising Kayakalpa Yoga regulates
sensual feelings, enhances mental maturity, and strengthens one's
character and personality.
Meditation
The sum - total of the experiences undergone by the mind determines
the character of one's mind. The mind is the only instrument available
to us for understanding itself and for observing its activities. No
other agency outside the mind can help us in this task. Observation
of the mind is possible only when it turns inward and proceeds towards
its source. By this inner journey, we come to realise that the mind
is only a projection of the life - energy.
A method of meditation, which is unique to the SKY system, is a
comparatively safe and easy method by which one starts observing the
movement of the life - energy within. Meditation reduces mental frequency
to the alpha wave range (7-14 cycles per second), resulting in inner
peace and calmness.
Introspection
This is the SKY system's most important component. Through meditation,
we get a clear understanding of the mind. By constantly observing
the thoughts that appear in the mental plane, we can trace the source
from which they arise. This process is known as Introspection. When
the mind is engaged in such self-enquiry, it discovers that all the
thoughts arising within it are nothing but its own shapes and qualities.
By practicing this method of continuous observation, the mind begins
to understand the motivating cause of every thought. It also learns
to estimate the consequences that will follow if the thoughts are
converted into actions. This introspection process where the mind
sits as a spectator and watches itself enacting its own drama is really
a wonderful experience that has no parallel.
The Maharishi has developed five fold steps for carrying out introspection
effectively:
1. Analysis of thoughts
2. Moralisation of desires
3. Neutralisation of anger
4. Eradication of worries
5. Realisation of Self
Unified Force
Materially speaking, we came into existence from non - existence through
our parents. Likewise, this universe as a whole also had a state of
non-existence - a state when it did not exist in its present form.
To comprehend that original primordial state, the divine Unified Force
from which the present universe evolved, poses a great and thrilling
challenge to the enquiring mind. It has been described as "that
which, when known, all else becomes known" everything . Such
knowledge is the ultimate quest of both philosophy and science.
Self Realisation
This signifies perfection of a human being in the evolutionary process
of Nature and results in the realisation of consciousness. Upon attaining
the ability to think, everyone should strive towards the final goal
of realising the Unified Force. Only then will one's purpose of life
and method of living harmonise.
The Final Goal
A world order of holistic unity and world peace can be achieved only
by bringing all religions - which are basically divine and moral paths
for humanity - under one scientific formula. To this end all people
who have the ability to think ought to realise Truth, inherent everywhere
and in everyone. Practising the SKY system and understanding the Unified
Force will enable man to moralise his pattern of living, which is
the true goal of both science and philosophy.
